Thanks, Bank of America! I’m sure you’ll understand why I was late paying my credit card this month, since I haven’t been able to access my account all week. I appreciate your patience while I resolve this issue.
2105:
D3.js is a small, free JavaScript library for manipulating documents based on data (via d3.js)
That’s quite interesting.
This looks awesome!
The excellent Cadence & Slang is now available as a PDF
Nick Disabato’s Kickstarted book about interaction design is a steal at $25.
Josh Inkenbrandt made a great web interface for Instagram
Everything you can read from the Instagram app (except comments, oddly) in a handsome interface. This is really well done.
OH SNAP! I just realized the reason comments weren’t showing up was because of the (otherwise awesome) shutup.css Safari extension. Woo! (thanks, Couch)
I Love You. (Taken with instagram)
I feel you, Merlin. I do. I was late to the Instagram party, took me a while to “get it”, and I still wish it did the social thing better. I wish it had a full blown API and clients on every platform and regrams and instarects (that feature could use some work) and all that.
But I still think it’s great, inexplicably. Addictive almost. And can’t help but think of all the Linux hacking neckbeards who think the iPad I’m writing this on is just too goofy.
Chrome incognito mode: not just for porn
Nelson Minar uses incognito mode in some clever ways to help debug web apps. Smart!
Facebook is hiring a journalist program manager
They want to teach journalists how to use Facebook to do better reporting.
This is fairly cool – Google is indexing recipe data with a new search view. You can filter by ingredient, cook time or calorie count (though, those latter two strike me as fairly useless).
There’s even corresponding micro-format markup that those of use who publish recipes can use to make indexing even easier. Neven and I are gonna figure out how to make that work with Tumblr, somehow.
